Ashokan Architecture & Planning, PLLC
Firm History

Founded in 2002, AAP has provided comprehensive and myriad design services for homeowners, institutional stakeholders, non-profit organizations, commercial businesses, and clinical offices.  As Principal of AAP, Will, a LEED Accredited Professional, arrived in the Hudson Valley from San Francisco.  Now with 25 years experience in residential and commercial architecture, he is a licensed architect in California and New York and has designed institutional, commercial and educational facilities in both states and New England.  Being CAD (computer aided design) and BIM (building information modeling) proficient, Brad manages complex, multi-phase projects on time, on budget, with an ear to the client's needs.

Brad serves as director on the AIA Westchester/Mid-Hudson Chapter Board of Directors, and in January 2010 will assume the dual responsibilities of Treasurer and President-Elect.  Brad is also director on the Kingston Farmers' Market Board of Directors, and is consulting designer to the Kingston Main Street Manager's Signage Committee.

AAP has recently realized a transformational evolution, introducing two members that significantly expand our firm's vision and offerings.  Yves Rathle, R.A. and Sari A. Myers bring their formidable, twin talents to the fore in combination with Mr. Will's, creating a design firm with an eye to holistic design solutions: integrated site and building energy innovation, sustainable lighting and energy modeling, high level concept structures and master plan rendering, water-based indoor and site features for healthy air quality and sonic ambience, and positively charged creative collaboration with the client.

History is our springboard for new, inspired environmental paradigms that can also serve as practical, fun, and durable places for human experience and interaction.  Rethinking old ideas to allow for new possibilities is not only possible, it is essential.  We propose a way of looking beyond the current fashion known as Green Architecture... an entry to the world of Blue Architecture, a place where water and air meet and intertwine with the constructed spaces we work, play, and live in and around.
