New biology and chemistry classroom/labs, storage, computer room.
1,650 sq. ft.
$100,000
1997 – 98

Site
The new structure is located at the edge of the school's rural campus, on a flat, partially wooded site with views of the Catskill Mountains. The building functions as a friendly indoor-outdoor laboratory for kids to explore the adjacent pond and woods.

Building
Two high, spacious classrooms flank a central “mudroom” entry. Large windows enable year round natural growing light to flood the classrooms, while also providing views of the wildlife and playing fields. The outdoor lab area, natural skinned entry columns, playful colors, and extreme economies of construction characterize the project.

Materials
Wood frame construction, engineered wood roof, slab-on-grade construction, hydronic baseboard heating.
