In terms of time and effort, the construction documentation
(CD) phase represents the bulk of architectural services for almost any
given project. This is when we pull together all of the accumulated information
that has been developed and completely describe the building's dimensional
form, structure, materials, finishes and mechanical systems.
The building code requirements are thoroughly reviewed and integrated
into the drawings, and the design is calibrated to meet or exceed energy
codes. Manufacturer product information, structural, electrical and mechanical
system designs are all integrated into the architectural drawings that
are ready for a contractor to bid and the building department to review
and issue a permit for construction.
After CD's and permitting are complete and during
the construction phase, Ashokan Architecture is typically involved as
the owner's agent, observing the work performed by the contractor. |
